1. Am I eligible to submit a proposal?
We would like presenters to be Montessori trained at the level they are addressing with at least three years of experience.
2. How long are presentations?
We are looking for presentations that are 60 minutes in length. We may accept a few 90 minute presentations.
3. What topics are you looking for?
The theme for 2025 is “Creating Environments to Empower Children”. Please keep that theme in mind while submitting your proposal. Topics may include (but are not limited to):
- Creating Community with and for parents, teachers, and children,
- Transformation of teachers,
- Transformative education in practice,
- Content areas that lead us to empowering children,
- Ongoing preparation and renewal of teachers,
- Creating innovative communities,
- Inclusive communities within school and the Montessori community,
- Academic programs/curriculum that empower children,
- Preparation of the environment
- Sustainability
- Leadership and leading empowering communities,
- We are looking for a few presentations to be conducted in Spanish.
Workshops/Keynotes will be submitted for continuing education credit with AMS and the State of Missouri.
4. How will I be notified if I am accepted?
Presenters will be contacted by David Shelton-Dodge by February 18, 2025.
5. What are the perks of being a presenter at an HMEI conference?
Each presenter will be gifted:
- complimentary registration to the conference,
- reception and light dinner Friday October 3rd,
- complimentary lunch on Saturday October 4th,
- catered dinner at HMEI on Saturday evening
- presenter swag bag
In addition, the HMEI Annual Conference is a great networking opportunity.
6. What about technology?
Presenters are required to bring a computer and adapter to use in their presentation. All rooms will be equipped with wifi, a projector, and a microphone. Presenters will have an opportunity to check technology in their presentation room on Friday, October 3rd.
